“That Rihanna reign just won’t let up!”
It’s recently been announced that Rihanna has been named Harvard Universities 2017 “Humanitarian Of The Year.” And get this…….
She is the 1st African American Woman To Receive This Honorary Award!
Rihanna [whose real name is Robyn “Rihanna” Fenty] will receive the “Peter J. Gomes” humanitarian award during a private ceremony, February 28th, on Harvard’s campus.
Via the university:
“In 2012, she founded the Clara Lionel Foundation Global Scholarship Program, a nonprofit named after her grandparents; for students attending college in the U.S. from Caribbean countries. And she also support the Global Citizen Project, which provides children with access to education in over 60 developing countries, giving priority to girls and those affected by lack of access to education in the world today.”
The Harvard Foundation director says:
“Rihanna has also charitably built a state-of-the-art center for oncology and nuclear medicine to diagnose and treat breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados.”
This foundation ANNUALLY recognizes prominent “public-spirited” leaders, and Rihanna is most definitely one!
