Last night, video footage surfaced of a male being handcuffed at one of rapper Big Sean’s CD signings! The individual who initially posted the footage used the caption:
“Big Sean getting smacked by a fan at a meet and greet”
The video quickly went VIRAL across all social media platforms!
On February 3, 2017 Big Sean released his highly anticipated album, “I Decided” which earned the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
While at a CD signing at a record store in the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY an ‘alleged’ fan attempted to slap the rapper! Captured video footage shows the male being escorted out of the venue yelling:
“Tell Jay Z what’s up!”
Today, Sean took to Twitter with a series of tweets stating:
“Look I never comment on this type of sh** but they can’t do me dirty and say a fan smacked me or no sh** like that/ some guy waited in line in the cold since 10am, brought my CD, when I signed his CD and shook his hand he TRIED to hit me off guard/ the dude was released from a mental hospital last week, he has a long record of mental illness and was off his meds. Very serious issues/He claimed he had wrote songs for Michael Jackson, Jay Z and was with Birdman etc…. I’m hoping he’s getting the proper treatment he needs/ I wanted to keep the signing going but the store shut it down. Sorry it got ruined for the rest of the real fans.”
Big Sean followed the series of tweets with:
I got the #1 album in the country currently and I’m grateful for every listener who got love for me. Everyday is a dream come true [praying hands emoji]#IDecided”
Since Sean’s tweets, MANY have both re-tweeted the statements and replied/ apologized to him sending well wishes.
In the entertainment industry you’re prone to these sorts of situations. We’re just happy that his security reacted as quickly as they did. Also, mental illness issues are very REAL! And we pray that this individual is getting the proper care needed at this time.
