‘SUBURBICON,’ a film based around betrayal, deceit, and violence in a 1959 suburbia neighborhood marks George Clooney’s sixth directorial film to date!
Clooney has teamed up with the ‘Coen Brothers’ [who wrote the film] for what is being predicted at “Oscar” ready, based off of it’s recent film festival reviews. According to Paramount Pictures:
“‘Suburbicon’ is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns… the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. But the tranquil surface masks a disturbing reality, as husband and father Gardner Lodge [Matt Damon] must navigate the town’s dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit, and violence. This is the tale of very flawed people making very bad choices.”
We’re not sure about you guys, but we definitely get a 2004 “Stepford Wives” vibe from the films synopsis!
During a recent interview, Clooney spoke on his experience working with the Coen Brothers. He states:
“I’ve learned a lot from working with the boys. They only shoot what they need. They’re really efficient. They storyboard all of their shots. They just do takes until they get what they need and then move on. I try to do all of those things.”
‘SUBURBICON’ is scheduled for release on October 27, 2017 in theaters.
