Everyday people fight to achieve life and career goals, but as Keke Palmer would say:
The GAG is that we have to be ‘as good as’ or ‘better than’ the next person fighting for the same spot!
So the question becomes, “How do we channel this challenge?”
Actress Gabrielle Union has recently shared her story about challenging millennial competition! In her book, “We’re Going To Need More Wine,” she explained her feelings about the day she met rising star/actress Ryan Destiny.
Gabrielle’s “Bitch Fuck You!” thought towards young actress Ryan Destiny was a way of expressing her feelings toward [younger] competition. Although, she didn’t mean any harm toward the rising star, she claims that,
SHE MEANT WHAT SHE SAID!
In that moment, the world learned a valuable lesson…..
Celebrities aren’t exempt from the feeling of intimidation!
Competition is EVERYWHERE and it’s better to embrace your insecurities rather than to keep them bottled up! There’s always going to be someone better than you, but they they will never be better than you in what YOU do!
Gabrielle Union may have been insecure about the beautiful young actress, but there is only ONE Gabrielle Union. Only she can perform so efficiently in a scene the way that SHE does!
Always stare your competition in the face, not for intimidation purposes but because the ‘situation’ is a motivator!
If you don’t wish to have your spot taken, then WORK HARDER!
Competition is good, and you should never be afraid because it has the potential to bring out the best in you.
Similar to Ryan Destiny….. DO NOT LET IT BREAK YOU!
Check out the excerpt below, just in case you haven’t read the book!
