[Lifestyle] “Don’t Rush Your Come Up!”

Lifestyle/Entertainment Contributor: Markita Michel [ @markitamichel_ ]

Have you ever heard or read the phrase, ‘Don’t rush your come up?’ It’s more relevant and popular these days, especially as a result of the POWER of social media!

Social media has a way of making people think that they aren’t succeeding in life, or that they are moving too slow and not making any progress. Well, that couldn’t be any more FAR from the truth!

YOU ARE SUCCEEDING, GROWING, AND MATURING INTO THE PERSON THAT YOU NEED TO BE FOR YOUR FUTURE GOALS.

We must remember that things in life that matter the most aren’t materialistic. They are things that you can experience, share a memory of, and learn from. Quite frankly put, social media is NO WHERE near close to real life!

Where you are right now in your life is exactly where you need to be. Maybe some higher calling is keeping you where you are to ensure that you learn everything that you need to know before moving you closer to the next step, goal, or accomplishment.

Acceptance of who and where you are today plays a huge part in your ‘COME UP!’

Steve Harvey said it best,

“God won’t give you more until you show gratitude for what you already have.”

If you’re always rushing and worrying about what other people are doing you will never find yourself, and it will take you twice as long to ‘get to where you need to be.’

Unbeknownst at the moment, you may be doing a lot better in life financially, physically, or even emotionally than most of your peers; but thanks to “false realities”  you believe otherwise.

But WAIT, we don’t want this article to be a generalization because there are some people really LIVING the life they POST. But for the most part, many are not; which tends to be the problem.

Some of your favorite celebrities will post and talk about their perfect lives, but a lot of them aren’t really as happy as they appear to be! IT’S ALL APART OF THE GAME! A dangerous game which has left people questioning their reality, while causing others to take their own lives.

So don’t rush your come up. Success speaks for itself!

Now I know it’s easier ‘said’ than ‘done’, so I’ve decided to give you guys a few tips on how to appreciate the path your on.

No. 1: SLOW DOWN

Accept that you are exactly where you should be in your life. Don’t be in such a rush to impress others because you might miss out on all of the messages and/or experiences that you’ll need for growth.

No. 2: BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

“Believe in yourself, who else gon’ believe in you.” [2Chainz]

Trust that you are on the right path! Do not steer away from your goals or dreams because someone else doesn’t see the vision that was placed on the inside of YOU!

No. 3: DO NOT COMPARE

Stop comparing yourself to others because things are not always what they seem. Everyone goes through their share of ups and downs, all of which you may not be aware of. And in order to walk in your truth, you’ll need to focus on YOU.

No. 4: LIVE IN THE MOMENT

I always say that I don’t want to look back on life and regret that I didn’t ENJOY the opportunities which presented themselves.

So stop planning so much and start living! Plans change all the time. Life happens and you cannot control it, so start going with the flow.

No. 5: DISCONNECT

Believe me, IT’S OKAY!

You don’t have to be connected all the time! Put down your phone, laptop, tablet, etc…. so that you can focus on other things. Being connected all the time means that you’re subjected to interruptions, false realities, and often times….. NEGATIVITY!
