Nick Cannon has announced that he will NOT be returning to NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” via a long Facebook post.
Cannon’s decision comes after network executives threatened to fire him over a racial joke he told during his comedy routine. In the joke Nick stated that the network wasn’t comfortable with him using the “n-word,” and that they place limitations on his comedic freedom.
As expected, NBC wasn’t too happy with those comments and they immediately threatened to FIRE Cannon from the show.
Well after much thought, Nick Cannon has decided to quit saying that he won’t be ‘silenced, controlled, or treated like a piece of property.’[excerpt]
“Recently many of my mentors have cautioned me that soon “The System” would come down on me because I was speaking too many truths and being to loud about it. I had no idea that it all would hit so close to home. I find myself in a dark place having to make a decision that I wish I didn’t have to, but as a man, an artist, and a voice for my community I will not be silenced, controlled, or treated like a piece of property. There is no amount of money worth my dignity or my integrity.”
