Popular hip hop podcaster Taxstone has pled guilty to FEDERAL counts of gun charges after ‘allegedly’ being connected to the 2016 fatal shooting at Irving Plaza in New York City which left Ronald McPhatter [the bodyguard of rapper Troy Ave.] dead!
After a year of investigation, authorities now suspect that the ‘shoot-out’ which involved Taxstone [whose real name is Daryl Campbell] and Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave. [whose real name is Roland Collins], stemmed from a long-time rivalry beef.
According to NYDN:
“While the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s office did not charge Campbell, 31, with a federal murder charge, they told Judge Lorna Schofield he brought a firearm to Irving Plaza and “fired one shot that killed Ronald McPhatter” as well as additional shots during the confrontation. Campbell faces up to 20 years in federal lockup.”
Prosecutors have found DNA from both McPhatter and Collins on a gun at the scene, and Campbell’s DNA on the actual murder weapon.
“The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has charged Collins with attempted murder for his alleged involvement in the shooting.”
Campbell is still behind bars, while Collins is out on bond.
