Whose ready for Gabrielle Union’s new book, “We’re Going To Need More Wine?” [Click HERE To Preorder]
This isn’t the first time this year that Gabrielle is being vulnerable & transparent. She recently laid out her feelings about self, marriage, and imaging exclusively for Complex Magazine [Click HERE].
But now it seems as if she’s really letting it out, by discussing her issues with IVF. Apparently Mr. and Mrs. Wade have been attempting to conceive for a while yet have been unable to. In the book she states:
“Once a month I look like I’m in my second trimester because I’m bloated. It leads to the questions and it leads to the rumors and anytime I go into a doctor’s office I feel like I’m a member of SEAL Team Six undercover because I don’t want people to speculate.
For so many women, and not just women in the spotlight, people feel very entitled to know, ‘Do you want kids?’ A lot of people, especially people that have fertility issues, just say ‘no’ because that’s a lot easier than being honest about whatever is actually going on. People mean so well, but they have no idea the harm or frustration it can cause.”
We’ve heard Gabrielle speak on fertility issues before, but not to this extent!
We’ve also heard a-list celebrities such as Tyra Banks, Oprah Winfrey, etc…. speak about their issues and career stressors. Which begs us to ask the question:
Is it worth it?
Is the fame, career, or stress worth not being about to conceive?!
Then we can’t say that either because these women had no idea that these stressors would impact their future in a negative way.
Mrs. Wade says that she suffered 8 to 9 miscarriages while trying with her husband, NBA star Dwayne Wade.
“I have had eight or nine miscarriages. For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant– I’ve either been about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle, or coming out of an IVF cycle.”
We don’t know about you guys but this book would be an amazing edition toward a “Netflix And Chill” type of night!
“We’re Going To Need More Wine” comes out October 17th…. Make sure to purchase your copy!
